34562 was built at Wolverton in 1955 to Diagram 181 (AB201), Lot 30095. It entered service in the London Midland region in May 1955, moving to the Scottish region in June 1971.[1]
It arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway on 13 May 1974 from Cowlairs, having been bought by The 75069 Fund.[2]
The photograph shows 34562 in March 2015 at Bridgnorth in 'Set C', the BRBritish Rail or British Railways crimson and cream set, numbered W34562 (a number it did not carry in service).
