- 1855 Robert Nicholson, the Engineer responsible for the first plans for the Severn Valley Railway, died. He was succeeded by John Fowler.[1]
- 1861 The last girder forming the river arch of Victoria Bridge was fixed in place.[2]
- 1903 GWR 3717 City of Truro was hand-timed at a speed claimed to be in excess of 100 miles per hour.[3]
- 1975 'Dickie' Dunn was not re-elected as a director of SVRSevern Valley Railway(H) and accordingly ceased to be its Deputy Chairman.[4]
- 1981 The water column at Highley was lifted into place using 30 ton steam crane RS 1091.[5]
- 1987 A visiting newly introduced Sprinter DMUDiesel Multiple Unit worked between Bewdley and Highley, the first time a BRBritish Rail or British Railways train had run on that route since the 1960s.[6]
- 1993 An episode of The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries, 'Death at the Bar' was first broadcast. The railway scenes filmed on the SVRSevern Valley Railway featured 7819 Hinton Manor and GWRGreat Western Railway carriages and at Kidderminster.
