BRBritish Rail or British Railways Class 37 37190 is a diesel-electric locomotive which arrived on hire in 2020. The Class 37, also known as the English Electric Type 3The British Railways classification for diesel locomotives of 1500 bhp to 1999 bhp, was a familiar sight on the British Rail network, in particular on InterCity services in East Anglia and Scotland. A summary of the Class 37 can be found on the 37906 page. They were also used for many years on secondary and inter-regional services. The Class 37s are sometimes nicknamed "Tractors" after to the agricultural sound of the diesel engine[1].

The locomotive is a central headcode example built as works number E3368/8411 by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn Ltd and entered service as D6890 at Landore (87E) in January 1964. In 1973 it was renumbered 37190 under TOPS and later to 37314 between 1986-1989 for dedicated steel traffic working off Motherwell depot, from 4 October 1988 carrying the name Dalzell after the steel and ironworks in Motherwell of that name. It was withdrawn 16 July 1993[2][3].

It was preserved by Class 40 Appeal in 'large logo' blue livery and at Midland Railway Centre, Butterley.[4]

37190 visited the SVRSevern Valley Railway for the Autumn Diesel Gala in October 2004.
