Hartlebury is a village in Worcestershire, approximately 3 miles South of Kidderminster. It has a station on the former Oxford Worcester and Wolverhampton route opened in 1852, which now sees regular services between Worcester and Birmingham. It was formerly the Southern terminus of the Severn Valley Railway.

Severn Valley Line

Hartlebury was originally the junction for the Severn Valley line, with the line for Stourport and Bewdley being situated just North of the station. The line between Hartlebury and Bewdley remained after the closure of the line towards Shrewsbury in 1963, with passenger services finally ending in January 1970. The line to Stourport remained open until 1979 for coal trains serving Stourport Power Station [1].

Signalling

Hartlebury Station signal box was of a McKenzie and Holland, built in 1876. The junction with the Severn Valley line was controlled separately by Hartlebury Junction signal box.
