How about listing the groups by loco number within "region"? As in the old Ian Allan books - wr, sr, lms, lner, standard etc. It shows no favouritism, just a logical order (to me anyway!) and probably the same as the SVRSevern Valley Railway stock book.

Yes, apart from going Steam > Diesel > Carriages, they are simply in the order I found them. The whole thing needs tidying up, probably as a table, maybe something like;
Preservation Group | Locomotives owned | Other rolling stock owned | Notes |
---|---|---|---|
Group A | Loco 1 Loco 2 |
2 GWRGreat Western Railway carriages | Based at Bridgnorth |
I'll start on it later.
