British Railways excursion handbills on display at Bewdley.

This page gives examples of passenger fares in both the commercial and preservation eras.

All GWRGreat Western Railway and BRBritish Rail or British Railways-era fares quoted are for a single journey, unless stated otherwise. Those fares are shown as originally published in pre-decimalisation form with 12d ('old pence') = 1 shilling and 20s = £1. For example the 1934 London to Kidderminster first class fare shown as 25/4 (the historically abbreviated presentation of £1 5s 4d) would today be written £1.27.
