It was built in 1951 by Metro Cammell. The 'Mackerel' was vacuum braked with a single central hopper door operated from an end platform.

The Railway Heritage Register Wagon Survey states this vehicle was inspected at the SVRSevern Valley Railway in August 2006, but does not include a photograph.
