Coach Fund''' was established in 1971. The announcement in SVR News stated that the fund had been "''...set up to purchase mostly LMS, but also BR Standard (if deemed necessary) coaches for use on the SVR.''"<ref>SVR News 21</ref> By 1998 the Fund had acquired 4 LMS carriages ([[LMS Corridor Third 2300 |2300]], [[LMS 7511 Restaurant First Open | 7511]], [[LMS 12992 Corridor Third | 12992]] and [[LMS 24617 Corridor Composite | 24617]]) and 4 BR carriages ([[BR 9220 Brake Standard Open | 9220]], [[BR 16267 Composite Corridor | 16267]], [[BR 25346 Standard Corridor | 25346]] and [[BR 25498 Corridor Second | 25498]]) for ongoing use.<ref>SVR Stock Book Ninth Edition</ref> LMS Brake Corridor Third 27023 and BR Mk 1 Corridor Seconds 24726 and 24396 were also acquired by the Fund but later [[Carriages formerly resident on the SVR|scrapped and used for spares]].<ref> SVR Stock Book earlier editions</ref> The LMS & BR Coach Fund donated all its vehicles and merged with the Severn Valley Railway Rolling Stock Trust, now the [[Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust Ltd | Severn Valley Railway Charitable Trust]], in 2007.
