Just in case anyone is wondering... The plan is to try out an "On this day in SVRSevern Valley Railway history" link on the main page. However, to avoid either having to wait until I've created a page for every day of the year, or having dead links, I only want it to show the link if the page exists. I think I've got it now. I know there was a problem with the {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} and {{NUMBEROFFILES}} links slowing everything down when I tried them ( 1,353 articles and 2,397 photos ,since you ask), but this is only looking for the existence of one page, so hopefully shouldn't make any noticeable difference.

And this one was an attempt to get version 1.27.1 to recognise mobile phones and give directions to lineside features. Various problems, including not being able to get MobileFrontend working, uncertainty over whether svrwiki would be able to ask users for their location without paying for an SSL certificate, and poor phone reception in many areas, means I am now starting to look at creating a From The Window app, but that's a whole 'nother project.
