Buildwas Sand Quarry SSSI is here. A look at the 1927 OS map on this page and the current one at the Natural England site suggests the SSSI is on the other (east) side of Much Wenlock Road than where the siding was, and the two seem adjacent but unrelated? Perhaps someone could look at the maps and double check my assumption please? Thanks--Patrick Hearn (talk) 15:04, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

:The SSSI map certainly shows the SSSI as being east of the B4378 only. The survey date versus the publication date of OS maps can vary quite widely. However the map published circa 1948 still shows the siding west of the B4378 while the map published in 1954 no longer shows the siding but also shows little or no activity where the SSSI is now.  In the absence of any other information I'd say your assumption looks reasonable.--Robin (talk) 19:46, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

Buildwas Sand Quarry SSSI is here. A look at the 1927 OSOrdnance Survey map on this page and the current one at the Natural England site suggests the SSSI is on the other (east) side of Much Wenlock Road than where the siding was, and the two seem adjacent but unrelated? Perhaps someone could look at the maps and double check my assumption please? Thanks--Patrick Hearn (talk) 15:04, 6 September 2020 (UTC)

The SSSI map certainly shows the SSSI as being east of the B4378 only. The survey date versus the publication date of OSOrdnance Survey maps can vary quite widely.
