I'm placing a call on the Batphone (as that should get a response from Robin!) for a bit more history on D8059 and D8188. I can't find much at all on the internet with regards to when they were preserved or their pre-SVR history (if they had any). I found a few bits and pieces by browsing around, although diesels don't get much coverage in SVR News at the best of times, let alone when the great flood was in progress.
