Diesel Traction Group (DTG) was formed in 1977 from a group of six enthusiasts led by Chris Reid and Colin Massingham.

Structure

DTG Limited is a private limited company number 05012555 incorporated on 12 January 2004.[1] It wholly owns a subsidiary, DTG Trading Limited.[2]

In January 2017 The Group offered new shares to raise funds for a replacement engine for D1015 Western Champion.[3]

Locomotives

The Group owns/manages four locomotives:

  • D821 Greyhound: Class 42 ‘Warship’ (based at SVRSevern Valley Railway)
  • D7029: Class 35 ‘Hymek (based at SVRSevern Valley Railway)
  • D1015 Western Champion: BRBritish Rail or British Railways Class 52 ‘Western’ (based at Boden Rail)*
  • D8568: BRBritish Rail or British Railways Class 17 ‘Clayton Type 1The British Railways classification for diesel locomotives of up to 1000 bhp’ (based at Chinnor & Princes Risborough)

Mainline operations
