After preservation in 1986, it A second similar crane was heavily rebuilt with components from other carriages to achieve scrapped some years ago but its crane jib runner is now being converted into a conversion to a passenger carrying rail-mounted survey vehicle accommodating up to 16 wheelchair users. In 2018-19 it underwent for use in a further conversion into a "Wheelchair Diner", providing much needed access to the SVR's Dining ServicesBirmingham University science project.
