It was considered one of four members of the class resident principal stations on the SVR. It arrived line, with two platforms and a passing loop from opening in September 2023 to take part in the Autumn Diesel Bash 1862 as well as a static exhibit small goods yard and was subsequently gifted goods shed. The location of the station just a short way north of the town made it perhaps the most convenient of the Severn Valley Railway’s stations relative to the Western Locomotive Associationtown it served.
