The RustonRuston and Hornsby Ltd. of Lincoln, engineer and locomotive manufacturer acquired by English Electric in 1966. Also, Ruston-Bucyrus Ltd established in 1930 and jointly owned by Ruston and Hornsby and Bucyrus-Erie (US) 906 Group were owners of Class 37 Diesel 37906 which arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway in 2000 under EWSEnglish, Welsh & Scottish Railway, a rail freight company ownership and was eventually sold to the Group in August 2006.[1]

The group contained a number of SVRSevern Valley Railway members who were also shareholders in the Class 50 Alliance and BR Class 37 37308.[2]

In November 2013 the committee of the Group announced that the number of owning shareholders able to contribute to the continued maintenance and upkeep of the locomotive had reduced to an unsustainably low number, and that consequently agreement had been reached for the locomotive to be sold.[3]
