The site of the sugar beet factory at Foley Park covered 65 acres, and the contractors, T. Vale & Co., commenced work in February 1925. At the same time, the GWRGreat Western Railway put in a temporary siding to convey plant and materials directly to site. By July of that year, permanent siding accommodation for about 118 wagons had been built and opened for traffic.[1]
