A postcard depicting Tenbury Wells station, circa 1916
An ex-GWRGreat Western Railway railcar arrives from Woofferton on 26 August 1949

Tenbury Wells, formerly Tenbury, was a station on the Wyre Forest Line between Bewdley and Woofferton. The station was the end-on junction of two separate railways: the Tenbury Railway linking Tenbury and Woofferton, opened in August 1861, and the Tenbury & Bewdley Railway, linking the two named towns in 1864. Despite the Wyre Forest Line being worked throughout by the GWRGreat Western Railway for most of its existence, the line was still worked in two halves, with many trains terminating at Tenbury Wells rather than running through. At the Bewdley end, many trains continued to Kidderminster.

The line to Woofferton was closed in July 1961, with only a single daily passenger train to and from Kidderminster remaining. Passenger services ended on 1 August 1962, the daily Stourbridge-Tenbury goods was withdrawn in January 1964, and the line completely closed in April 1965.
