I no longer have access to SVROnline, but there was an annoouncement in 2018 relaxing double heading restrictions for two smaller coupled locos?--Patrick Hearn (talk) 12:15, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

All I can find is a single reference to temporary speed restrictions being printed on red or pink paper, with a list of locations where they should be displayed. I'll have a look at Bewdley MPDMotive Power Depot next time I'm there. --Graham Phillips 110 (talk) 19:03, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

The statement "Although the deck of Victoria Bridge was built to single track width, the abutments were built wide enough for double track, meaning the bridge could have relatively easily been converted to double track" is incorrect.

The bridge itself is clearly built to take double track, as can be seen from the distribution of the arched girders. What gives the impression of a single track bridge is the fact that the walkways originally attacbed to each side of the brdge, which can be clearly seen in old photos have been lost. The Albert Edward bridge is all but identical to the Victoria bridge but retains these walkways, although modernised, so just looks different.

In the distant past I heard it suggested that casting of the girders for the Albert Edward bridge was well underway when the original SVRSevern Valley Railway Co changed the route through Bridgnorth so an alternative use was found for them but I have no proof of this.

Thanks for raising this point. After asking for further information on the SVRSevern Valley Railway Facebook page, I was sent copies of parts of the original drawings for the bridge, which clearly show the double track width, and which I have now added to the page. --Graham Phillips 110 (talk) 10:59, 8 January 2020 (UTC)
