Suggestions and resolved queries

It might also be an idea to include TV advertisements. Boldford (talk) 19:58, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Definitely - and music videos if there are any. Some of the entries probably deserve their own pages - God's Wonderful Railway definitely does because it was so SVRSevern Valley Railway-specific. --WillSalt (talk) 20:00, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

I seem to remember in one of the "Doctor" comedy series that Doctor Bingham (Richard O'Sullivan) got his foot stuck in a gap at a level crossing - the one to the water works just north of Hampton Loade. Think the GWRGreat Western Railway railcar was the "train". Remember it? Sharpo (talk) 21:16, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Don't forget Guy Martin. I remember seeing him being filmed on the platform at Kidderminster, and he also appeared on TV "helping" at Bridgnorth MPDMotive Power Depot. Sharpo (talk) 22:23, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Didn't he get a footplate ride (including mandatory frying of food on shovel) and a bit of work with the PWPermanent Way at Arley? I remember the latter involved a sharp telling off by one of the PWPermanent Way men for not standing clear of the track when the lookout sounded the horn to warn of an oncoming train! --Danny252 (talk) 09:48, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Added - I notice it was series 1 episode 1 so he started with the best!--Robin (talk) 11:38, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

http://forum.svr-online.org.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2389&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=folkestone mentions "Game of Shadows" & "Dancing on the Edge". Sharpo (talk) 22:47, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

Did that episode of Countryfile, involving someone hanging off one of our viaducts, ever get aired? --Danny252 (talk) 09:48, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

The Wikipedia Severn Valley Railway Page has a section on the SVRSevern Valley Railway on film and TV which has a few more that might be worth including.--Robin (talk) 11:38, 29 January 2015 (UTC)

Current queries

Rosie and Jim

I am convinced that an episode of the children's series "Rosie and Jim" featured their canal boat going under Victoria Bridge with 8233 stopping on the bridge and whistling. I can't find it anywhere though. Anyone else want to try? --Patrick Hearn (talk) 16:55, 19 December 2016 (UTC)

It's not the obvious "Steam Train" episode, which was filmed on the Battlefield Line. I haven't found any reference to the SVRSevern Valley Railway in connection with R&J, although I haven't sat down to watch all 176 episodes either! --Robin (talk) 17:55, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Inside Severn Valley Railway

I came across a Wikipedia page for a 6 part series called 'Inside Severn Valley Railway'. There is a 30 second trailer on Vimeo. It was scheduled to air in late 2015, however I do not not remember any publicity either for the filming or broadcasting of it. Does anyone else remember this one?--Robin (talk) 13:19, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

I've never heard of it, but I do know "Severn Valley volunteer Nick Wright"... I shall make enquiries! --Danny252 (talk) 13:52, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
The internet makes enquiries rather quick these days! The show is by Studio Vega Myst Productions, and is currently in post-production. --Danny252 (talk) 13:55, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks - look forward to seeing it when it airs. Hopefully the SVRSevern Valley Railway will get some advance notice so it can be advertised in the same way as the Scotsman programme was. --Robin (talk) 17:55, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Mad Dogs

Wikipedia claims this was filmed at HL but there is no reference[1]. Any ideas? --Patrick Hearn (talk) 23:47, 9 January 2017 (UTC)

I wonder if it's actually referring to the episode "Mad Dog" from Survivors? --Danny252 (talk) 11:35, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
I think that is quite likely. I'd spent some time previously looking for references to Mad Dogs in conjunction with the SVRSevern Valley Railway, but without success. The filming info in the Hampton Loade entry on Wikipedia was rather iffy; I'd already edited it to remove "Oh Brother" which was filmed at Arley. Also take your pick on which unspecified 70's serial it refers to. --Robin (talk) 17:46, 10 January 2017 (UTC)
