Talk:LNWR 76738 (fictitious) 4-Wheel Tranship Van

Robin has amended the Goods Wagons page to show this as being a The GWR 813 Preservation Fund vehicle. I was going to do minor edits to this page to add the missing Category: Rolling stock owned by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund and to add a photo to that category page, but a search on the GWR 813 Preservation Fund rolling stock webpage doesn't show it? Before I/we make the change, does anyone know anything more? TIA--Patrick Hearn (talk) 19:14, 13 April 2024 (UTC)

"Citation required", as they say on Wikipedia! The 1998 stock book showed the owner as Paddy Goss as an individual rather than the 813 Fund as a whole. However there was an information poster on the van today (which I think is new, because I haven't noticed it before) which ends with the statement that "76738' is owned by the 813 Preservation Fund". I've therefore updated based on the poster as currently displayed rather than the stock book; hopefully Paddy wouldn't have a problem with that (or if he does, he can ask the Coach Fund to amend their poster!). It definitely isn't JJ Smith as previously shown, which I suspect was a copy and paste error. I'll probably update this page as article of the week using the additional information on the poster, if you want to hang fire till then. --Robin (talk) 20:38, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
Ta. I wondered whether it was me that had added J.J. Smith to 76738 in an update I did lately, cross referencing JJS across the pages. However, I checked the page updates history and both LNWRLondon & North Western Railway wagons had J.J. Smith added as owner in an edit Graham did in 2021 based on information from Nick Baxter of the 813 Group, which is where the error crept in.--Patrick Hearn (talk) 22:42, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
