Talk:Edward Wilson

A bit of uncertainly around dates and roles. Boynton (2002) writes at some length about how the OWWOxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway's first Locomotive Superintendent, David Joy, was appointed in 1852 and was succeeded as such in February 1856 by Frederick Hayward. However he makes no mention of Edward Wilson that I can find. Wilson's obituary on Graces Guide says he became OWWOxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway Engineer in 1856 but without saying if that included the locomotive role to which Hayward had just been appointed in that year. The Wikipedia article on Wilson quotes a source as saying he was Locomotive and Permanent Way Engineer for the OWWOxford Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway from 1858. Thoughts or info from other sources to confirm one way or the other would be welcome. --Robin (talk) 18:02, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
