I edited the Abraham Darby comment as the one alive in 1855 (Abraham Darby IV) was not involved in the creation of the Iron Bridge (Abraham Darby III). However, on further reading of Wikipedia, it seems that Abraham Darby IV resigned from the Coalbrookdale Company in 1849, which is somewhat earlier than the ca. 1855 date given. Should the article simply state that the water wheel was from the Coalbrookdale Company? --Danny252 (talk) 08:59, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

I would suggest yes. Extracted from Shropshire History Coalbrookdale:
  • 1849 - The Darby family relinquished management as their interest focussed on Ebbw Vale Ironworks, although they still owned an interest in the company.
  • 1852 - Abraham Darby IV held 88 shares out of 720 in the Company’s ironworks and collieries and sold them to Mary Darby.
  • 1925 - Alfred Darby II retired as Chairman of the Company, marking the end of the Darby connection with the works.
So that suggests the Darby family had an ongoing association with Coalbrookdale circa 1855, but were not directly running the Ironworks. --Robin (talk) 17:29, 16 April 2018 (UTC)
