  • 1859 John Owen, a labourer engaged in constructing the Severn Valley Railway, appeared at Condover petty sessions charged with stealing a spade from Thomas Jones, a fellow workman.[1]
  • 1912 Tenbury station was renamed Tenbury Wells by the GWRGreat Western Railway.[2]
  • 1972 More than 5,700 people attended a bonfire night event at Bridgnorth.[3]
  • 1976 D1062 Western Courier was bought from BRBritish Rail or British Railways by the Western Locomotive Association, becoming the first class 52 ‘Western’ to be preserved.
  • 1978 The final railtour using Severn Valley coaches on the main line ran from Bridgnorth-Pwllheli.[4]
  • 1987 BR Mark 1 Full Brake E81013 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway from Thornton Fields via Ely, having been acquired by SVR(H) in response to a request from Arley for two BGs to be converted for use as Santa's Grottos.[5][6]
  • 2017 50007 Hercules became the first locomotive to use the newly installed lifting jacks in the Diesel Depot when it was lifted for maintenance.
