The SVRSevern Valley Railway can call on a fleet of approximately 8 steam locomotives, 4 diesel locomotives, a 5 car (3+2) DMUDiesel Multiple Unit, 65 carriages and several goods wagons.
There are several more locomotives, both steam and diesel currently undergoing long term repair.
The carriages are normally operated as five rakes of 7 or 8 carriages; one rake each of BRBritish Rail or British Railways maroon, GWRGreat Western Railway chocolate & cream, BRBritish Rail or British Railways crimson & cream, LNERLondon & North Eastern Railway teak and LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway maroon plus a five carriage GWRGreat Western Railway chocolate & cream diner set.
A number of the goods wagons are used for demonstration freight trains.
