LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway Six-wheel Passenger Brake (BGZ) 2886 was an early StanierWilliam Stanier, Chief Mechanical Engineer (CME) of the London, Midland and Scottish Railway 1932-1944 design and was built in 1932 at Wolverton to Diagram 1796 in Lot no. 664. In the 1940s these coaches were equipped with stoves and became nicknamed ‘Stove Rs’. The coach was later numbered 32919.

2886 was first purchased for preservation in 1970 and based on the Dart Valley Railway. 2886 arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway in 1971/2 and ran as a temporary bar car until 1976, when the then owner started much needed panel repairs which unfortunately were never completed. By 1998 it was in use as a Tool Van by the The 4150 Fund, and by 2006 it was stored under a tarpaulin north of Bridgnorth with some repanelling having taken place but otherwise very little progress towards restoration.[1][2]. In 2002 ownership passed through another member, thence in 2008 to the Severn Valley Railway Rolling Stock Trust, now the SVRSevern Valley Railway Charitable Trust.

Overhaul restarted prior to 2010, with an intention for the vehicle to become a reception vehicle for dining trains. In 2010 the Trust reported a Preservation of Industrial and Scientific Material (PRISMThe Preservation of Industrial and Scientific Material (PRISM) Fund, a source of funding from the Arts Council/The Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.) Fund award of £9,251, which covered the materials for the rebuilt bodyshell in the first year of the build.[3] The extensive rebuild has included parts from now-demolished body of 33002 at Didcot. It was photographed in March 2015 undergoing an overhaul at Bridgnorth and, with the internal work done, it was moved to Kidderminster carriage works on 20 February 2016 for mechanical work and completion of the exterior painting. By August 2018 it was being lined out.

In November 2018 the Charitable Trust announced it would host a mobile exhibition as part of the interpretation element of the funding bid for repairs to Falling Sands Viaduct.[4]
