Before the comissioning of Kidderminster signal box, the connections to Platform 1 were controlled by a ground frame, which was unlocked by the Bewdley South-Kidderminster staff. The signal box was commissioned on 21/11/1987, which is probably when the ground frame was taken out of use. It is not known whether the ground frame controlled any points other than those leading to Platform 1 and the run-round line.
