Goodnight Mister Tom was a 1998 made-for-TV Movie featuring John Thaw (The Sweeney, Inspector Morse, etc.), from the novel by Michelle Magorian. The plot concerns the developing friendship between a shy young WWII evacuee and the disgruntled old man with whom he is housed[1].
The fictional station in the story is Little Weirwold, although the film had a 'Weirwold' running in board.[2] Filming on the SVRSevern Valley Railway took place at Arley.
