95353 was built at Swindon in 1916 to Diagram V16. It is a typical 'MinkGWR telegraphic code signifying a covered goods van A' covered goods van with a 10-ton capacity.
95353 was previously preserved at the Rutland Railway Museum (now known as 'Rocks by Rail'). In February 2014 it was acquired by The GWR 813 Preservation Fund as part of a three-way exchange by which the RRM acquired the The 2857 Society’s LMS Ore Hopper 691804, and the 2857 Society received an appropriate financial benefit.[2]
