This machinery flat, or ‘well wagon’ was built at Swindon in 1944 and is of type LoriotGWR telegraphic code signifying a machine truck N, having a 20 ton capacity.

It was acquired by SVR(H)[1] from Round Oak Steelworks in March 1971 and initially restored the following year. For some years it was the regular transporter for the P.W bulldozer. When photographed in March 2015 it was sited at Bridgnorth, carrying the saddle tanks of 2047 Warwickshire and GWR 813.

On 14 July 2018 the original boiler, smokebox and saddle tank of Manning Wardle 2047 'Warwickshire' were lifted onto 42343 by the 30-to steam crane in preparation for a planned move of the locomotive chassis and other components to Bewdley later in 2018.
