Summary

A close up of the Hampton Loade token instrument, with the configuration notch (here in position "A") being visible in the top left corner of the aperture, below which is the magazine to hold the tokens (which are out of view further down). On the left is a manual indicator for the signalman's benefit, and on the right is the plunger to operate the bell at the other end of the section (and to release a token at that end). The indicator at the top is the galvanometer, which responds when current is flowing through the system due to the plunger at either end being pressed.
