The Sleeper Either class (SLE) and Sleeper Either class with Pantry (SLEP) are versions of the BRBritish Rail or British Railways Mark 3 sleeping carriage. A total of 208 (118 SLEP, 90 SLE) were built by British Rail Engineering Limited (BREL) at the Derby Carriage and Wagon Works between 1982 and 1984.

The BRBritish Rail or British Railways Mark 3 rolling stock featured a monocoque construction with all-welded mild steel stressed skin, and was air-braked. These features make it unsuitable for operational use on a heritage railway, but a number of such railways including the SVRSevern Valley Railway have acquired them for use as temporary accommodatoin for staff and volunteers.
