BRBritish Rail or British Railways Class 37 37190 is a diesel-electric locomotive which arrived on hire in 2020. The Class 37, also known as the English Electric Type 3The British Railways classification for diesel locomotives of 1500 bhp to 1999 bhp, was a familiar sight on the British Rail network, in particular on InterCity services in East Anglia and Scotland. A summary of the Class 37 can be found on the 37906 page. They were also used for many years on secondary and inter-regional services. The Class 37s are sometimes nicknamed "Tractors" after to the agricultural sound of the diesel engine[1].

The locomotive was built by Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn Ltd and entered service as D6890 at Landore (87E) in January 1964. It was later renumbered 37190 under TOPS before being withdrawn in 1993[2].

37190 visited the SVRSevern Valley Railway for the Autumn Diesel Gala in October 2004.
In February 2020 37190 was announced as a visitor for the forthcoming spring Diesel Gala;[3] however the event was cancelled due to the 2020 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. 37190 subsequently arrived on the SVRSevern Valley Railway on hire on 12 July 2020 to assist on infrastructure workings, a role previously carried out by classmate 37688 Great Rocks between January 2018 and February 2020.
37190 is owned by Locomotive Services Limited. It operates only on heritage railways and is not main line certified[3].
