DB 992329 is a 4-wheeled 17-ton steel ballast hopper, Telegraph code 'MACKEREL', TOPSTotal Operations Processing System, an American computer system adopted by BR from the late 1960s to number and manage rolling stock. code ZMV. It was built in 1951 by Metro Cammell to Diagram 1/583 Lot 2284.[1]

The 'Mackerel' was vacuum braked with a single central hopper door operated from an end platform.

The Railway Heritage Register Wagon Survey states this vehicle was inspected at the SVRSevern Valley Railway in August 2006, but does not include a photograph.
