Please can someone check SVRSevern Valley Railway News 56 and 58, there's a discrepancy between 18/19 May for moves to Rainhill? TIA--Patrick Hearn (talk) 10:09, 5 May 2020 (UTC)

I suspect the 18th came about because someone (probably me!) didn't fully read the SVRSevern Valley Railway News 58 article. "On 18th May, in undercoat black livery, 43106 was lit up in readiness for the journey to Rainhill. When ready to move off shed the next morning, part of the grate collapsed which then jammed the ashpan doors." SVRSevern Valley Railway News 56 is quite specific: "What promised to be a brilliant run up to Rainhill was marred by dry weather, and on Saturday 17th May 'Princess' pacific No. 6201 started fires in the already sensitive Ruabon area. The result was a curiously inconsistent ban on L.M. region steam movements, unless piloted by diesel power. Our own moves on Monday 19th May were diesel-hauled; Alun Rees had to fight to retain light steam for lubrication purposes on our engines. The whole ensemble set off from Bridgnorth one hour late after rocking grate segments on 43106 had deigned to weld themselves to the ashpan and mechanism; the formation was 43106 + 3205 + LMSLondon Midland & Scottish Railway coach + D1062 + 600 Gordon to Bewdley, where the 2 GWRGreat Western Railway coaches were added behind 3205. At Foley Park, a long wait ensued before a brace of Class 25 diesels coupled on." So the move was definitely on the 19th. --Robin (talk) 15:48, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
