Interesting to know where else around the country BRBritish Rail or British Railways procedures called for a goods train to be divided so a Signalman could get past it, and how often it was done in practice. Perhaps they should try it on the SVRSevern Valley Railway one day!

Off the top of my head, I can't think of any other BRBritish Rail or British Railways instruction like this, but maybe they did exist. Still, it seems very considerate of them... There is one case where a similar-ish rule exists on the SVRSevern Valley Railway, where trains in the No. 1 Siding at Bewdley must divide to keep the barrow crossing clear, but that benefits quite a few more people than the signalman! --Danny252 (talk) 09:09, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
I've posed this question to the experts at Signalbox.org: link. --Danny252 (talk) 20:02, 19 November 2015 (UTC)
