I've described this to the best of my ability. I'd appreciate if someone who actually knows about signals could check it.

Not all of the distants are fixed - the one for the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Main is North's DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) From Kidderminster Distant. If you look closely you can see that it's the only one with a normal two-lens spectacle plate.

I won't edit the page because as I've never been in South box myself I'm not 100% sure of the right answers, but I think you've misnamed a few signals. Bear in mind the names below are what I think they probably should be, but you need someone who's seen South Box's lever leadsThe (usually brass) information panel on a point or signal lever informing the signalman which other levers need to be pulled to release that lever to tell you for certain. The two UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) signals you describe both signal trains from the Back Road - the Kidderminster one is off for your move, as you know, and the other is the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Back Road To Hartlebury Home. Confusingly, although they're "platform starters" colloquially, in the signalling regulations they are Homes, because Bewdley platforms 2 and 3 are within the block section. The UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main Homes are mounted on the far right-hand side of the line with respect to the trains, so are out of view on the left in the picture. You've got the meaning of the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) signals correct as far as I'm aware, apart from the one you missed out for the Rock Siding. --WillSalt (talk) 18:01, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for that, I should have realised one of the distants was controlled by North box.
I got confused by the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) signals because the diagram shows them as on the end of the island platform, between the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main and Back Road, yet they are actually between the Back Road and Rock Siding. Is there no UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main Home Starter protecting point 15?
I did have a plan to do a signal by signal, driver's eye view sequence of photos showing a full round trip with an explanation of what each signal meant. It might be best if I leave that to someone else.

There are two UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main Homes (not Home Starters) protecting 15 from movements on the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main and also marking the end of the block section on that line, but they are on the "wrong" side of the line, on the far side of the Goods Loop. 29 is the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main To Hartlebury Home and 32 is the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main To Kidderminster Home. --WillSalt (talk) 07:30, 19 March 2015 (UTC)

I've made a few modifications to the wording, but the meaning was correct for all. I'll have to do some more edits next time I'm in Bewdley South, copying what the lever leadsThe (usually brass) information panel on a point or signal lever informing the signalman which other levers need to be pulled to release that lever actually say!

It's also worth noting that 15 is the FPLFacing Point Lock, equipment that physically locks points so that they cannot move., not the points - 16 is the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Main/Back Road points. Additionally, there is no Goods Loop - the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Yard contains No. 1 Siding (adjacent to the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Main), No. 2 Siding, and the sidings for the Carriage and Wagon Works.

Regarding the UpIn reference to the direction of travel means towards the major terminus (i.e. towards Kidderminster on the present day SVR) Main homes, this photo shows them on the left. The one place there is no protection is for wrong road movements on the DownIn reference to the direction of travel means away from the major terminus (i.e. towards Bridgnorth on the present day SVR) Main - they're authorised right up to discs 24/25, which are past the first set of points!
