Summary
This photo shows two pages from the footplate diary of Fred Wells.
The entry for 13/11/65 shows that after signing on at 5:05, he rode as a passenger to Machynllth, from where he drove 7812 to Shrewsbury.
Until this diary came to light in November 2015, it was believed, based on BRBritish Rail or British Railways paperwork, that 7812 had been withdrawn the previous week and was already at Shrewsbury.
